Pete Bednar

Pete has worked in both the public and private sectors for 35+ years. During those years, he has developed a proven track record in real-world “boots on the ground” Sales Training, Sales Management Training, and Customized Coaching.

Most recently, Pete was part of a select team of Business Advisors who helped the Cuyahoga County Department of Development launch a new initiative called SkillUp. In his role, he proactively reached out to County businesses to identify their organizational needs. The goal of SkillUp was to meet the business needs of companies and to put residents of the County on wage and career pathways. Pete was also responsible for providing sales training for the other Business Advisors on the team.

In two different training companies, one of which he was founder and president, he hired, trained, and coached a sales force that consistently exceeded their sales goals. Pete’s ability to understand the challenges and hurdles faced by salespeople allows him and the sales team to develop solutions that positively impact the bottom line in a sustainable and profitable way.

In addition, Pete served as a Sales Leader in higher education when he was named the Director of the Center for Business and Industry at Lakeland Community College. In that role, he trained and managed a sales team that proactively reached out to businesses within the College’s service area to provide on-site training services.

Pete was also the Sales Manager of the Government and Education Group for ToolingU, a provider of online technical training. In his first year, he and his team of salespeople exceeded the sales and profit goal by over 20% from the previous year.

In his training and coaching, Pete places a premium on the critical importance of building relationships with clients. The end result is that the salesperson becomes a trusted advisor to the client over an extended period of time. At the same time, his approach is to develop structure and accountability with the sales team, so that their efforts and results mirror the expectations of the Leadership team.

Pete and his wife, Chris, have 6 grown children between them and 7 grandchildren. Pete and Chris enjoy playing golf, traveling, Playhouse Square, and spending time with family. They are also active in their church where they serve on a variety of boards and lead various ministries.
