HR Consultant

Mary Sax, SHRM-SCP, serves as an HR Consultant at ERC, where she provides clients with expert guidance, recommendations, and implementation support on an interim or project basis. She partners with organizations on a wide range of human resources needs, drawing on her extensive experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, compliance, compensation and benefits, and organizational development.

Mary brings more than three decades of progressive HR experience across corporate,  manufacturing and nonprofit environments. Prior to joining ERC, she served as a Human Resources Business Partner at Recovery Resources, where she partnered with executive leadership to strengthen employee engagement and employee lifecycle processes, improve recruiting and onboarding, redesign performance review and salary planning systems, and implement a healthcare strategy that significantly reduced annual costs. Previously, Mary served as Human Resources Manager at WS Tyler, where she led HR operations, advised leadership on workforce strategy and employee relations, and implemented improvements to HRIS, performance management, compensation, and employee engagement programs. She also held leadership roles with AECOM and URS Corporation, advancing from HR Generalist to HR Director and leading HR strategy, succession planning, leadership development, workforce planning, organizational design, and multi-site HR operations.

Her areas of expertise include employee relations, performance management, HR compliance, compensation and benefits strategy, leadership development, change management, employee engagement, HRIS and process improvement, and organizational development, talent acquisition and workforce planning.

Mary most enjoys partnering with leaders to align people strategies with business goals and creating HR practices that help organizations attract, develop, and retain their people. She is especially passionate about improving employee experiences, strengthening organizational culture, and developing thoughtful HR strategies that support both employees and business growth.

Mary holds a bachelor’s degree in business and organizational communication from The University of Akron. She is a Senior Certified Professional by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-SCP) and is a member of Lake/Geauga SHRM.
