Helen Oshaben

HR Consultant

Helen Oshaben, SHRM-CP, serves as an HR Consultant and HR Training Facilitator at ERC, where she provides members with practical guidance and support on a wide range of HR and business-related topics. As part of ERC’s HR Advisory Desk, she partners with organizations to navigate complex workplace challenges while also delivering focused training programs that help members better understand compliance requirements and employee benefits.

Helen’s areas of expertise include compliance, employee benefits, training, and employee relations. She is especially passionate about breaking down complex information into clear, actionable insights, equipping members with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions and strengthen their organizations.

Prior to joining ERC, Helen served as Director of Human Resources at Hawken School, where she managed the full employee lifecycle, including payroll, benefits, and retirement plan administration, while also partnering with legal counsel on compliance-related matters. Earlier in her career, she spent over a decade with Oswald Companies as a Senior Consultant and insurance advisor, supporting clients with benefits strategy and regulatory guidance related to DOL and ERISA requirements.

Helen holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Baldwin Wallace University. She is a Certified Professional by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP) and holds an Ohio Health Insurance License.

Helen most enjoys providing training and resources that help members make sense of complicated information. She values the personal interaction her role provides, allowing for meaningful discussion, and often a bit of fun, along the way.

Outside of work, Helen has become an avid golfer and enjoys taking on leadership roles with her local LPGA Amateurs chapter.
