Samantha Marx

As Vice President of Strategic Projects, Sam leads key ERC strategic initiatives, projects, and events that strengthen client engagement and advance the organization’s impact across Northeast Ohio. She plays a central role in driving high-profile programs and experiences that connect employers with valuable resources, thought leadership, and opportunities for growth.
Sam also directs the NorthCoast 99 annual recognition program and event, which honors 99 great Northeast Ohio workplaces for top talent. In this capacity, she oversees the planning of the yearlong program, the execution of the signature event, and sponsor relationships, ensuring an exceptional experience for winners, partners, and attendees. She is also instrumental in supporting other major ERC initiatives, including training programs and the HR Impact Summit.
Her areas of expertise include event strategy and execution, special initiatives, NorthCoast 99, training and development programs, and large-scale conference planning. Sam most enjoys making a positive impact on ERC clients and the broader Northeast Ohio community through meaningful programs, partnerships, and experiences.
Prior to her current position, Samantha worked in various roles within ERC’s Membership and Training Services departments after starting with the organization as an intern. Before joining ERC, she built her professional foundation in the hospitality industry, serving in event planning and operations roles with Hyatt and Marriott Hotels.
Sam received a bachelor of business administration with a concentration in hospitality management from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She also holds a master of business administration from Case Western Reserve University.
