ERC’s Supervisory Series Development Path: Fundamentals is tailored to help new, seasoned, and aspiring supervisors elevate their leadership skills and boost organizational success!

This program’s comprehensive curriculum is designed to meet the needs of the learner, helping them overcome challenges, lead with confidence, and foster high-performing teams.

It encompasses a unique set of tools for success, including proven mechanisms to maximize knowledge retention, industry-leading assessments, research-backed supervisory skills, and immersive case studies to facilitate growth and development.

Led by experienced instructors, this virtual training series allows managers and supervisors to engage in decision-making scenarios, interactive discussions, and hands-on activities that culminate in a personalized action plan for applying their new skills.

Role of the Supervisor

Oftentimes, the success of a supervisor or manager depends largely on how well they communicate with their employees. In this virtual, instructor-led training, participants will take Wiley’s DiSC® assessment to become more aware of their own and others’ communication styles and preferences. Participants will also be able to:

· Recognize the impact of open and honest communication

· Engage in the active listening communication process

· Identify Wiley DiSC® social styles and behavioral tendencies

· Apply strategies to strengthen workplace relationships

Conflict Management

Since supervisors and managers are responsible for whatever happens within their teams, they spend a considerable amount of time handling, preventing, and minimizing conflicts. By the end of this instructor-led training session, participants will be able to:

· Recall the most common causes of conflict

· Identify the five Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) conflict handling modes

· Formulate strategies to manage and resolve conflict

· Apply tools for dealing with challenging people and situations

Managing Employee Performance

Managing and documenting an employee’s performance is an essential function of a supervisor’s role. This ongoing process begins as soon as a supervisor or manager has started working with the employee to establish goals. By the end of this virtual, instructor-led training session, participants will be able to:

Supervisors and managers have a shared responsibility with HR in making sure that their interactions and relations with employees are compliant with federal and state employment laws, and supportive of a positive workplace culture. · Understand the role and responsibilities of supervisors when it comes to employment-related legal compliance

· Recognize when key employment laws are compromised and what, if any, action is required

The make-up class must be completed within six (6) months of the missed date. No refunds are issued for any guest who misses a training class.
