Jymese Smith brings over 20 years of fiscal processing, bookkeeping, and accounting experience to ERC.

As our Staff Accountant, Jymese manages our accounts payable and receivable and treasury management, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger and the accuracy of information. She assists in month-end closing procedures by reconciling all bank accounts and credit card statements. Jymese also supports ERC with HR functions, including payroll, benefits, and employee recordkeeping.

Prior to ERC, Jymese served as Managing Partner and Assistant Controller at The HOPE Accounting Firm. In this role, she supported multiple small business clientele in the legal, nonprofit, retail, restaurant, and general contractor industries with bookkeeping and general accounting services. She also trained entrepreneurs in QuickBooks Desktop and Online software and provided implementation services.

With proficiency in accounting along with her skills and experience, she has helped law firms such as Chicago-based Jayaram Law and the international firm, Squire Patton Boggs, with everything from accounting to trust account management as well as billing, financial reports, taxes, and settlement checks.

Jymese studied accounting and business at Columbus State Community College, and she holds a certification in business management from Stratford Career Institute. Outside of ERC, she is a mother, a fiancée, an avid lover of music, and has a healthy love of food and shoes.
